Johns Hopkins Onsite Clinics provide best-in-class, fully customizable health care directly at an employer's worksite. These clinics provide accessible care and wellness services designed to prevent injuries and illness, improve employee health, reduce absenteeism and manage health care costs.

For customers considering multiple clinic locations, primary care services will likely be very similar across various worksites, but occupational health needs can vary in scope per location (audio or drug tests, DOT exams, etc.). Johns Hopkins will work with you to set the recommended services and evaluate utilization, as well as evidence-based, quality, efficient and targeted care.

Clinics are staffed by a Johns Hopkins health care provider — either a nurse practitioner or physician assistant — who builds trusted relationships with employees and delivers high-quality care. Depending on your clinic's needs, additional support staff may include registered nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health specialists, physical therapists and others.

All clinics have three additio�nal layers of supervision:

1. A clinical coordinator: Provides support in both operational and clinical consistency
2. A state-licensed physician (M.D. or D.O.): Involved in performance improvement and monitoring
3. The Director of the Johns Hopkins University Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (DOEM): Serves as Medical Director to ensure proper protocols are set, perform regular case reviews and more.

Employees can schedule appointments online, by phone or walk in — depending on your clinic and business needs. Clinics are designed to be convenient, confidential and easily accessible. Onsite clinicians are also available to provide care remotely (including physical therapists) to treat employees not in the office.

The employer covers the operating cost of the clinic at no expense to employees. Some employers choose to charge a visit fee, which we can collect and credit back to the employer (not by processing a claim with insurance). Blood draws/specimen collection are sent to a lab (e.g. Quest or LabCorp), which will in turn bill insurance for their services.

All health information is protected under HIPAA regulations. Clinical staff operate independently of employer oversight and follow strict confidentiality protocols to ensure employee trust and privacy. The employer does not have access to the EHR.

We begin with a collaborative needs assessment of the employer's population health. From there, we design a customized clinic model, establish goals and metrics, and set an implementation timeline — from staffing and operations to compliance and communications.

Yes. Our partnership includes continuous support, performance reporting and optimization. We monitor outcomes, employee satisfaction and clinic utilization to ensure your onsite clinic delivers measurable value. In addition to the onsite staff, you will have hands-on involvement from your dedicated Johns Hopkins clinic manager, supervising physician and account management team, often including the Medical Director in chart reviews, performance reviews and even workers' comp collaborative case reviews.

Timelines vary depending on your organization's size, infrastructure and scope of services. On average, planning and implementation take between 3 to 6 months from kickoff to opening.
